Red River Inside Sales Account Manager in Albany, New York

Red River’s Inside Sales Account Manager 2 position (ISAM 2) is an account management focused role that is responsible for supporting an Account Team’s sales activities and contributing to the company’s sales goals with an emphasis on the Customer’s experience and building long-term relationships. ISAM’s are the primary point of contact for Red River’s Account Executives and through their daily activities, build close relationships with Partners, Vendors and Customers.

Primary Position Tasks:

  • Commissioned Salesperson responsible for contributions to Account Team’s annual margin attainment with documented year over increases in annual margin attained in previous 2 years.

  • Collaborates with an Account Team to manage a dedicated customer account list.

  • Proactively engaged in focused IT Sales Training forums and actively pursuing internal and external opportunities to broaden experience in the industry.

  • Proficient in the use of all required Red River business applications

  • Proficient and demonstrated experience with all Contract and Compliance protocols

  • Proficient in the application of Red River sales procedures and protocols

  • Proficient and demonstrated experience with the use of Red River staff resources such as the Support Services Team, Pre-Sales Engineering, Capture Team and Professional Services Team

  • Proficient and demonstrated experience in the use of customer, vendor and OEM resources.

  • Driving new opportunities through account management best practices, lead generation campaigns and cold and warm calls.

  • The ability to determine technologies that are relevant to the customer and effectively present Red River’s capabilities via phone or e-mail communication.

  • Trusted resource and active participant in company projects outside of dedicated sales role. Eligible for sales mentorship role.

  • Quote activity will originate from RFQs, OEM leads, phone and e-mail prospecting and limited face-to-face meetings

  • Other business duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:

  • 3-12 years of sales experience in the IT industry

  • Entry and advanced level certifications in OEM training programs

Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:

  • 3+ Years of experience in the IT Sales Industry or equivalent. 4-year post-secondary degree or equivalent (degree is preferred but not required for position).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient phone skills, emphasizing listening skills, leveraging the open-ended question technique, courteous and conscientious mannerisms and technically literate language so as to support successful cold and warm calls. The ability to host conference calls.

  • Proficient writing skills, demonstrated by the correct use of grammar, professional communication style and technically literate language with demonstrated experience communicating complex opportunity details to customers, vendors and OEM partners.

  • The ability to work effectively with limited or no supervision.

  • Ability to be creative and to self-motivate.

Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):

This position is an office position that requires remaining in a stationary position for multiple hours throughout the workday.

This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
