Salary Range: $18/hr.

Repairs, maintains, overhauls and assembles various machines, equipment and building systems. This includes HVAC units, fan coils, pumps, motors, compressors, plumbing, electrical and other building mechanical equipment and systems. Performs repairs and minor construction utilizing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry and painting skills. Assists with snow removal activities by driving AMC vehicles to snowplow, distribute road salt, and shovel sidewalks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs periodic preventative maintenance repairs and inspections on machinery and systems.

  • Maintains and overhauls various machines and equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors and fans. Fabricates brackets, guards, parts, etc. using welders, power and shop tools.

  • Repairs, cleans, lubricates and maintains equipment and systems such as surgical tables, nurse call, medical gas, automatic doors, sterilizers, motors, pumps, compressors and controls.

  • Performs repairs and minor construction to buildings and facility, including painting, plastering, masonry, carpentry, plumbing and electrical.

  • Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Has a working knowledge of the safe use of power tools, shop tools, hand tools and testing equipment.

  • Works with blueprints, schematics and shop drawings.

  • Maintains spare parts and hardware inventory and equipment information file to include drawings, schematics, parts lists, cut sheets and operating instructions.

  • Performs periodic preventative maintenance of equipment and systems and maintains records of tests, calibrations and inspections performed.

  • Performs mandatory overtime and other duties as required (on-call coverage, call back and snow removal duties) and works with and assists other trades, as needed.

  • Assists and cooperates with supervision to schedule and complete projects according to plans.

  • Assists in inspection and testing of fire alarm. Performs periodic maintenance to fire alarm. Resets alarms.

  • Performs air handler filter changing.

  • May periodically perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.

  • Follows AMC policies and procedures and adheres to Center safety policies and regulations.

  • Responsible to conduct good housekeeping measures to promote safety.

  • Responsible to attend asbestos training annually and be part of the asbestos team.

  • When needed, management reserves the right to assign or reassign all employees.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required

  • Associate's Degree in a pertinent field may be accepted in lieu of (2) year’s experience - required

  • 4-6 years in a multi trade maintenance shop - required
