Job Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Compensation: up to $120,000/year

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Reviews financial records for vouchering of grants and contracts.

  • Reviews and approves all accounts receivable transactions; to include collections and write offs to the general ledger and processes the reconciliation of the subsidiary to the ledger.

  • Reviews all bank and investment reconciliations.

  • Reviews and approves all accounts payable transactions, to include payments.

  • Supervises Staff Accountant.

  • Manages the daily cash flow for payment purposes.

  • Ensures the G/L accounts and coding are maintained for effective representation of operational, and reporting requirements.

  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements. Prepares financial reports and notes for the Finance Committee and board meetings.

  • Responsible for preparing an annual cash flow projection and updating this projection throughout the year in order to monitor the cash flow situation.

  • Coordinate with managed care companies to ensure timely payment for services are rendered.

  • Manages the annual outside audit; to include working with auditors on the completion of reviews and audits, preparing all lead schedules, and coordinating the gathering of supporting materials for the annual financial statement audit.

  • Work with various funding sources to ensure proper vouchering and timely receipt of funds.

  • Records acquisition and disposal of capital and fixed assets, and updates fixed asset schedules.

  • Heads the Finance Committee meetings and takes a lead on the Finance Department portion of the Board of Directors meetings.

  • Maintain contract agreements and supporting documentation.

Requirements

Education and Training:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

  • Extensive non-profit accounting experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. CPAs are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience:

  • Non-profit experience required.

  • Proven experience in a financial leadership role, with a track record of success in strategic financial management.

  • Experience in managing and leading a team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.

  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
