Cummins Inc. Diesel Technician in Albany, New York

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Albany, NY.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant must be able to perform electronic and basic engine diagnostics as well as complete major repairs, including unassisted engine overhauls. Minimum of 3 years' engine experience.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience

  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
