Albany County Dentist (Pediatric Dental) - Per Diem in Albany, New York

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is important professional work involving responsibility for making the necessary dental corrections for patients. The work is performed in accordance with the general policies and practices of the profession. Incumbent is responsible for results of professional services rendered.Examples of Duties: •Performs comprehensive oral exams, provides prophylaxis, takes radiographs, fluoride administration and sealants on pediatric patients•Restores carious lesions using proper instruments and restorative materials •Administers nitrous oxide analgesia and local anesthetic•Performs single and multiple extractions of teeth•Maintains accurate dental records, both written and electronic•Treats hard and soft tissue pathology with appropriate medication •Makes patient referrals, as appropriate for continuation of dental care•Provides oral hygiene education and instruction to pediatric patients and parents•Participates in trainings in person and online •Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATION: Graduation from an accredited or registered New York State School of Dentistry. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a certificate of registration to practice dentistry in New York State. CPR/BLS certification.
