CME's licensed engineers and certified technicians specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials evaluation in both field and laboratory, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.

Summary

Perform material testing and inspection services on commercial construction sites. Day trips in the Albany, NY area. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Test construction materials such as soils and concrete for quality assurance on commercial sites

  • Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results

  • Complete each testing assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate standards

  • Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner

  • Communicate regularly with direct supervisor to provide updates on project details

  • Complete continuing education and preparation for additional certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC)

    Qualifications and Skills

  • HS Diploma

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering / technology, geology, or related is ideal although not necessary

  • Ability to obtain certifications through American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC) with full support from CME

  • Familiarity with construction materials, procedures, and documents a plus

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Compensation: $20 - 25/hour
