The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support.

For 75 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.

We are searching for an Accountant to join our agency. This position is based out of our offices at 314 South Manning Blvd in Albany and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting the Center's financial and statistical information in compliance with various third party agency regulations

  • May prepare all or part of cost reports, tax returns, and other required reporting including census reports

  • Works closely with program staff to develop and monitor budgets for grant funded programs and may be required to assist in the development of the Agency budget

  • This position is also responsible to prepare system and/or manual journal entry records, reconciliation of accounts, and other accounting functions/entry as it relates to the Center for Disability Services Corp. and its related entities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required

  • At least two years of experience specifically in Accounting or Third Party Reporting

  • Successful candidates should have strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail

  • Position requires routine lifting, bending pushing, pulling in the course of handling file and supplies up to 25 lbs.
