Description

We are seeking a compassionate and bilingual individual fluent in Spanish to join our clients team as a Bilingual Medical Assistant. The Bilingual Medical Assistant will play a vital role in facilitating communication between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care. This position requires fluency in both English and Spanish, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering culturally sensitive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, serving as a liaison between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking providers.

  • Obtain and record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately, utilizing Spanish language skills as needed.

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, providing clear instructions and explanations in Spanish.

  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws and specimen collection, and ensure accurate documentation of results.

  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers, providing bilingual instructions and education to patients.

  • Assist with patient education and counseling on various health topics, including medication instructions, preventive care, and disease management, ensuring understanding among Spanish-speaking patients.

  • Maintain clean and organized examination rooms and equipment, following infection control and safety protocols.

  • Complete electronic health record (EHR) documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring that all patient information is documented in both English and Spanish.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and assisting with medical records, utilizing bilingual communication skills as needed.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent training.

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, with the ability to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare providers.

  • Prior experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting is advantageous.

  • Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in taking vital signs, performing basic medical procedures, and assisting with examinations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.

  • Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to provide culturally sensitive care.
