Parsons Corporation Principal Engineer - Electrical (Infrastructure) in Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Engineer - Electrical (Infrastructure) to join our team! In this role you will get to provide professional support to the program projects with emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the project designs in conformance with approved standards and codes. Reviews public and private sector development requests for utility corridors and easements. This role requires an up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, international codes/standards and possess a broad knowledge and experience of utility works in large infrastructure projects complemented by practical experience.

Main Responsibilities.

  • Review and feasibility studies of utility corridors and easement requests for proposed and existing utilities, with focus on power networks.

  • Involvement in conceptual engineering design, master planning of utilities, writing technical notes, and coordination of existing and new utilities infrastructure.

  • Technical Review of improvement plans, technical specifications, construction estimates, design calculations for compliance with approved design criteria and good engineering practice.

  • Provide support for the Construction Department in answering and resolving technical design issues, clarification and interpretation of the design drawings and coordination with other sections.

  • Prepare conceptual utility and site designs, layouts and coordinate with other engineering sections, prepare alternative solutions to issues and problems.

  • Preparation and review of cost estimates and material quantities.

  • Preparation of Utility (HV and MV power networks) planning and design in the creation of capital improvement projects and verifying the capacity of existing utility systems and establishing new ones.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized University.

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with 7+ in the relevant Utilities space with focus on power infrastructure (HV and MV) and telecommunications/data systems at city scale.

  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi utility design codes and regulations will be considered an advantage.

  • Previous experience in Consultancy and Design for Utilities Providers is preferred.

  • Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association is preferred.

  • The ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

Specific technical requirements are:

  • Experience in site development, design of utilities for large residential, industrial and commercial areas.

  • Experience with high and medium voltage electrical distribution networks. Estimate of power loads and voltage drop calculations.

  • Experience in load flow analysis and voltage drop calculations using ETAP.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Experience working for/with local municipalities in the design and coordination of infrastructure improvements.
