Parsons Corporation Principal Engineer - Civil in Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Based at the Yanbu Industrial City Program, Parsons are looking to introduce to the Design & Engineering Team a Principal Engineer - Wet Utilities / Drainage

focused on the technical design & review of all roads & infrastructure schemes within the Program.

This role provides professional support to the program projects with emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the project designs in conformance with approved standards and codes. Other areas of focus will include but not limited to:

  • Reviewing design info / specification / submittals of Consultants and Contractors.

  • Provide technical advice across the projects to all relevant parties including the Client Team.

  • Prepare design proposals including scope of work, design concepts, cost estimates.

  • Prepare and update technical specifications.

  • Provide technical input into proposals, evaluations, pre and post contract award meetings.

  • Undertake field inspections during construction and provide technical assistance where required.

  • Guide and mentor junior engineering team members.

Qualifications and experience required for this role include:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering studied full time at a recognized WESTERN UNIVERSITY.

  • A minimum of 12 years postgraduate professional experience and a minimum of 10 years experience in infrastructure wet utilities / drainage design relating to large scale industrial, commercial and residential infrastructure projects.

  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi Engineering Codes / Regulations will be considered an advantage.

  • Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association.

  • A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management including the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

  • Experience in preparing and modeling site grading, setting up horizontal and vertical geometry of roads, corridor modeling, generating profiles and cross sections, and calculation of earth work volumes.

  • Competent in the application of hydraulic modeling software including preparing and analyzing model data. Demonstrable experience in the use of industry standard hydraulic modeling applications including WaterCAD, SewerCAD and StormCAD
