Job Description:

Instrumentation Control Automation (ICA) Design Engineer

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Instrumentation Control Automation (ICA) Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for contributing to the development and design of ICA systems, including detailed P&IDs, SCADA architecture, and control room layouts.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Reviewing and Developing Detailed Design P&ID’s,

  • Reviewing and Developing SCADA System Architecture,

  • Designing PMS System,

  • Preparing I/O Schedules for Process Controls, BMS & PMS System,

  • Preparing Instrument Schedules & Instrument Data Sheets,

  • Conducting ICA Systems Load assessment & Calculations for feed to size UPS,

  • Developing Operation & Control Philosophy, Functional Design Specifications for each system, and Detailed Design Reports,

  • Assisting QS Team in producing BoQ for ICA systems,

  • Preparing Overall Instrumentation & Control Layouts, including design of control room layouts comprising control panels, operator workstations and large screen monitors, SCADA furniture as required,

  • Developing ICA Cable Schedules,

  • Working closely with architects, structural engineers, and MEP team to ensure proper integration and coordination of all system elements within the overall building model,

  • Contributing to the ICA design, specifying the devices and ensuring appropriate coverage for different building spaces,

  • Conducting regular quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the electrical models, drawings, and associated documentation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Engineering Degree in Instrumentation & Controls / Electrical Engineering.

  • 5 years of experience as an ICA / ELV Engineer.

  • Experience working on industrial projects, especially STP will be advantageous.

  • Good knowledge of design principles, codes, and standards for ICA Systems.

  • Good knowledge of PWA / Kahrammaa requirements.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit software.

  • Familiarity with BIM processes and collaboration tools.

  • UPDA Certification.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience with SCADA software packages (e.g., Wonderware, Siemens WinCC, etc.).

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles relevant to industrial control systems.

  • Experience in conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

  • Familiarity with international standards and best practices related to instrumentation and control systems.

  • Experience in preparing technical specifications and tender documents.

  • Ability to provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.
