Department: Office For the Aging Reports To: Maintenance

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Support Worker will be required to perform physical labor outdoors, using a variety of equipment, in winter and summer weather conditions. This position will serve the American region of Akwesasne.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Exhibit a friendly and courteous manner when dealing with our employees and fellow associates.

· Cleaning and organizing garage.

· Maintain records, manage inventory and determine needed supplies and equipment.

· Perform minor repairs on equipment and facilities.

· Contact maintenance service shop for major repairs.

· Operate a variety of equipment including mowers, tractors, snow plows, and other machinery and equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisor requirements for this position,

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Due to the sensitive nature of information, must maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Must possess a strong attention to detail and have good observation skills to detect equipment and facility malfunctions. Ability to follow safe procedures when handling machinery. Ability to interact in a positive and courteous manner with community members. Ability to adapt to changes in company structure and responsibilities. Must possess physical strength and stamina. Must be able to bend, lift and carry fifty (80) lbs. Must enjoy being outdoors. Must be comfortable working with building and facilitating a “team selling” atmosphere as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must have basic computer skills. Must have basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply in all units of measurement. Strong ability to effectively multi-task, establish priorities and work independently in a busy environment. Must exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. Ability to work well under pressure.

Possession of a valid Driver License in accordance with Fleet Policy.
