Onsite Position Summary: The Vice President (VP) of Supply Chain develops, recommends, implements, and manages the supply chain operations. The Vice President of Supply Chain is responsible to attain the lowest cost for good and services consistent with desired quality, quantity, and delivery requirements; to ensure timely, efficient customer-oriented services, reduction of the organization's legal and financial risk on material matters, adequate controls and standards, and compliance with the organization's policies and governmental regulations. The VP of Supply Chain will leverage the buying power of the organization in categories of spend that are common across all operations, employing state-of-the-art supply chain purchasing methods and technologies, implementing standardization and consistent policies across the organization, and developing strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: 1. Develops supply chain operations strategies and direction for the supply chain organization to become a best-in-class operation. 2. Creates and manages a business plan to ensure supply chain operations meets Akron Children's objectives and improves supply chain functions. 3. Defines and develops supply chain policies, methods, standards, and tools to provide guidance and support to the optimal functioning of the department across facilities. 4. Establishes and leverages supply chain management analytics and reporting function to enable operational improvements. 5. Executes supply chain operations initiatives to achieve specific cost savings targets. 6. Serves as a liaison with suppliers and implements vendor management policies and procedures to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. 7. Collaborates and mentors' staff on negotiation of major and complex contracts to ensure cost efficient methods are implemented. 8. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. 9. Drives improvement in material flow, inventory management, receiving and distribution to gain operational efficiencies. 10. Acts as a supply chain business advisor to senior leadership and affiliate leaders to achieve organizational targets. 11. Establishes governance over procurement and logistics management activities to achieve organizational targets. 12. Leverages the intellectual capital of the entire organization (as appropriate) to achieve supply chain objectives. 13. Oversees the effective management and leveraging of Group Purchasing Organization relationships to achieve organizational targets. 14. Develops, implements, and monitors performance improvement and/or customer service programs in assigned areas to ensure work assigned is completed in a timely manner. 15. Maintains the standardization of programs, files, processes and systems in supply chain functions to ensure operational effectiveness. 16. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position. 17. Reviews and meets ongoing competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions. Other information: Education and Experience Education:Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business and/or healthcare administration required. Master's degree preferred. Years of Relevant Experience: Ten (10) years progressive experience in healthcare supplychain required. Years of Supervisory Experience: Five (5) years' experience in a leadership capacity.
