Vertical Machining Center Machinist (1st and 2nd Shift) - Akron, Ohio - JOB 24-00216 Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00/HR Permanent Position with Benefits. Akron, Ohio area manufacturer is hiring skilled Machinists. Premium shift pay for evening shift. 2 positions on 2nd shift(4:15 pm - 2:30 am & 5:15 pm - 3:30 am). REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Graduate (Trade school or experience)
  • CNC vertical machining center experience
  • Set up, make offset, program adjustments, & operate computer-controlled machines
  • Exceptional math skills to calculate centerlines for set-up and verify part accuracy
  • Perform machine adjustments, tool changes...
  • Use hand, power tools and precision measuring instruments to check work in progress and final product for conformance to dimensional, configuration and surface finish requirements and tolerances.
  • Burr removal on all parts where required
  • Able to read basic or advanced technical drawings / blueprints with good math / trig skills
  • Handle large parts, read measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, edge finder, bore gages, probes)
  • Read a steel scale in fraction and decimal
  • Do basic or advanced layout / set-ups
  • Mold function knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of or able to learn basic or advanced CNC machine programming (tool path programming & macro programming)
  • Knowledge of different steels and materials
  • Physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds when needed
  • 2 ^nd^ shift (nights) is 3:15 p.m. 1:30 a.m. Night shift receives a 12-1/2% premium on the day hourly pay rate.
