Technical Project Manager - Algorithm Applications

The Tire Intelligence department is seeking an experienced associate to assume a leadership role in the serialization of algorithms and software products. The primary focus is on meeting Goodyear's current and future business needs and aspirations in the F.A.C.E (Fleets, Autonomous, Connected, Electric) domain. In this capacity, the associate will oversee the transition of tire intelligence algorithmic and software products from the advanced development phase to the production phase. The role involves close collaboration with the systems engineering and global quality assurance teams to establish and maintain high standards for software serialization processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the complete project management of algorithm serialization, spanning from advanced development stages to production implementation.

• Ensure that development, validation, and delivery adhere to guidelines and processes, such as ISO26262 and ASPICE.

• Develop and sustain project timelines, identifying critical path activities and potential bottlenecks.

• Utilize Jira projects for reporting status and escalating high-risk issues.

• Communicate project progress, challenges, and key milestones to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals.

• Manage a team comprising algorithm developers and software testing engineers to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

• Oversee and organize team roles, objectives, priorities, and releases in alignment with the product priorities.

• Determine staffing levels to support long and short-term business goals and team growth.

• Perform managerial activities such as performance management, associate development, team staffing, recognition plans, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and communication/enforcement of policies & procedures.

• Establish regular communication and exchange with sponsors, stakeholders and gatekeepers to keep global organization aligned and abreast of execution status, risks, issues and opportunities.

• Support communication to OEMs and Tier-1 electronic system suppliers . Own communication related to algorithm functions and products

• Work closely with our global communication team to prepare media releases for the annual consumer electronics shows (CES), Auto Shows, and media events.

• Ensure that all relevant documentation meets organizational and regulatory standards.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software serialization process.

• Define and manage the operating and capital expenditure budget for the overall team.

• Update budgetary details for all projects using the Enterprise performance management (EPM) tool.

• Track monthly spending using the X+Y report generated by the PMO office. Make decisions and prioritize work to deliver on our strategic goals while staying within our budget.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering. Master's degree in Engineering is desired.

• 8+ years of experience in automotive product development, which includes 5+ years of relevant work experience with evidence of successful software product implementation and direct experience working with an OEM or Tier 1 as project manager/technical lead

• Exposure to the agile software development lifecycle through product deployment.

• Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple stakeholders.

• Experience in embedded automotive system architecture and/or understanding of the automotive arena.

• Well-versed with R&D trends in Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) or Autonomous Vehicle (AV)
