PRNVariable shift, hoursOnsite Akron, OH Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the scheduling, performance, and quality of Nuclear Medicine procedures. Responsibilities: 1.Performs examinations according to established protocols set forth by the medical director. 2.Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with hospital policies/procedures as well as state and federal regulations. 3.Performs quality control and maintenance on all department equipment. 4.Records and maintains disposal log of radioactive materials. 5.Provides education and training to other technologists, physicians, residents, students, hospital ancillary personnel, and other personnel as needed. 6.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age. 7.Other duties as required. Other information: Technical Expertise 1.Experience in nuclear medicine is required. 2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required. 3.Experience in healthcare is preferred. 4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Epic software or similar EMR software is preferred. Education and Experience 1.Education: Graduate of accredited school of Nuclear Medicine is required. 2.Certification: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required. Registry with the ARRT (R) in radiography is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required. Certified to practice in specific state of employment is required. 3.Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 2 years is preferred. 4.Years of experience supervising: None.
