About the Position

Goodyear's Global Talent Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Leadership Development Manager who will be accountable for planning/managing the design and delivery of leadership development journeys for our global leadership development portfolio. This individual will collaborate closely with our key internal business partners, talent professionals (within the COE) and other stakeholders to translate business needs into impactful leadership development experiences that develop future leaders in Goodyear's leadership pipelines. This role is accountable for end-to-end oversight and business outcomes of our key leader programs and other leadership competency-building efforts (including the design, development, delivery, analysis, measurement and maintenance of all new/existing global talent programs) - Ensuring these programs provide clear demonstrated impacts and a positive return on overall performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Global Leadership Program Planning and Design: This individual will lead efforts to plan/design leadership programs based on Goodyear's leadership competencies and by using data for needs from sources (such as development plans and engagement surveys). They will work with internal stakeholders to conceive/scope a set of comprehensive leadership development journeys within these programs that use evidence-based methods to effectively build leadership competencies. The individual in this role will be expected to use a holistic, systems thinking approach to assure programs/other resources form a clear and consistent system of leader development that durably meets the needs of the organization.

  • Vendor Relationship Management: This associate will own relationships with vendors/consultants that assist with creation/delivery of leadership development programs or provide related services. They will serve as the vendor's point-of-contact to address questions, resolve issues and periodically oversee overall performance of contracts. As part of contracting, they will be responsible for scoping services, deliverables and other elements required in compliance with Goodyear Procurement guidelines.

  • Global Leadership Program Development and Implementation: He/She will manage projects to build/deliver leader programs. They will lead reviews and other key project activities with multiple stakeholders (including internal subject matter experts [SMEs], vendors and other resources). This person will use a disciplined approach to assure program deliverables are delivered within scope, on-time and at the expected level of quality for their audiences. They will be expected to apply agile methods to create/iterate innovative solutions from a "minimum viable product stage" to a final stage. Finally, they will play an active role in a program's execution - Observing how it is conducted and helping with talent evaluation.

  • Talent Evaluation and Measurement: In addition to evaluating program efficiency and business impact for continuous improvement, this individual will be responsible for embedding feedback systems and rigorous talent evaluation methods into leadership programs to intentionally gauge the program's impact on individual growth and a program's broader organizational impact on the strength of the bench and readiness in key leadership pipelines.

  • Client Liaison/Leader Development Consulting: The incumbent will act as a client liaison - Addressing ad-hoc (internal) client regional and business needs as they arise. The individual will consult on leadership development solutions for these opportunities. They will gather/document needs, specify leadership development options and coordinate the implementation of agreed regional and business "point" solutions on behalf of the COE.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing or a related field required. Masters’ degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing or a related field desired.

  • 10 or more years of experience working in Human Resources, Leadership Development or related function required.

  • Management experience and accountability for people, budgets, contract negotiations and outcomes as well as large complex projects/programs across a global organization desired.

  • Leadership development program design/development experience required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional consulting skills with the proven ability to acquire business acumen to address priorities/challenges

  • Excellent presentation, decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to effectively manage the design, development and delivery of Learning/Development programs across broad client groups

  • Strong leadership skills - Ability to develop a comprehensive plan for leader development that incorporates emerging technologies.

  • Knowledge of feedback, talent evaluation and measurement approaches (as they apply to leadership development interventions).
