Entry Level CNC Machinist / Drill Operator - Akron, OH - JOB 24-00336 Pay: $19.00-$25.00/HR Permanent Position with Benefits A locally family owned and operated machine shop serving the aerospace and defense industries has had continual growth year after year. We are currently looking to add an experienced drill operator / machinist. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Machine heavy production and/or fixturing materials to print requirements. • Move heavy materials (up to 20,000 lbs) and tooling using proper equipment (forklifts,overhead cranes, lifting chains/slings, etc) handling, loading, and machining heavy production and/or fixturing materials to customer or in-house requirements. • Select and properly use a wide variety of tooling including drills, reamers, taps, boring heads, spindle supports, etc to manufacture to print tolerances. • Select or modify cutting parameters to suit various applications including different materials, interrupted cuts, tooling or workpiece situations prone to vibration/chatter, etc. • Perform preventative maintenance and repair on equipment as necessary. • Edit or occasionally programs on CNC controls as necessary. • Complete daily maintenance and repair; record actions on logs. • Communicate with operators from other shifts. SKILL REQUIREMENTS:KNOWLEDGE AND • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. • A working knowledge of CNC machine code (G & M codes). • Experience using one or more of the following manual, or CNC tools: lathe, milling • Ability to read, and interpret blueprints and schematics. • Ability to lift, up to 30 pounds required. Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen. Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply.
