CHILDRENS HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER OF AKRON BIOSTATISTICIAN INTERN in Akron, Ohio

Part Time, 15 Hours/Week Summary: The Biostatistician Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Research Data Supervisor and in collaboration with Biostatisticians. The role includes collaborating with biostatisticians to provide data cleaning and preparation, perform basic data analysis, create graphical representations of data and reports of findings. The intern will work on research projects at any stage to gain meaningful work experience. During the program, the intern will be mentored on various statistics and research topics, receive career advice, and training to develop valuable soft and hard skills. Responsibilities: 1. Shadowing biostatisticians and other RDCRI staff members during research meetings and other research-related activities. 2. Participating in supervised ongoing research projects and/or research-related activities by assisting biostatisticians with data cleaning and management of various types, executing assigned statistical analysis, and presenting statistical results to research teams. 3. Ensuring compliance with research regulations and guidelines. 4. Performing other duties related to biostatistics as required. 5. Interns may also have the opportunity to learn the basics of research study design, statistical analysis plan, and research dissemination Other information: Technical Expertise 1. The Intern must show an interest in pursuing a career in statistic of STEM related field. 2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office. 3. Basic experience using statistical software (SAS, R, Minitab, SPSS) is preferred. Education and Experience 1. Education: Currently enrolled, full time, in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university/college. 2. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. 3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 4. Have completed at least one semester of college statistical courses or analytics courses prior to internship. 5. Certification: N/A 6. Relevant years of Experience: N/A 7.
