Robert Half Accounting Manager in Akron, Ohio

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor for our real estate property and facilities management team based in Akron, Ohio. The role primarily involves overseeing all general areas of accounting and managing accounting functions across multiple business units. This position also requires strong analytical skills to assess problems or unusual situations and develop solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Process and review various bank account reconciliations

• Review intercompany transactions and AP account and reconcile GL with affiliates

• Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts

• Assist in month-end closing activities

• Review and analyze budget and account variances on a monthly/quarterly basis

• Assist with the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to ensure the accuracy of financial records

• Review and research vendor contracts to ensure appropriateness of charges

• Monitor timing of annual/semiannual real estate tax payments

• Collaborate in the preparation of annual budgets

• Work with senior management on integrating future acquisitions and assist with data conversion and reconciliation during systems integrations of acquired locations

• Assist with monthly draws for construction in progress properties, track and record monthly draw funds and allocate funds to vendors and contractors

• Provide oversight of Accounts Receivables, ensuring that tenant payments are posted in a timely and accurate manner, resolve discrepancy items and maintain a strong relationship with property managers

• Assist in completing state and/or local tax filings

• Prepare annual audit files and tax preparation files for the organization and all affiliated companies and facilitate audit and tax preparation process with external accounting providers

• Perform general office tasks related to assigned responsibilities and duties including filing, telephone communication, and handling routine correspondence.

• Comply with all company policies, any applicable rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws. Requirements • Proficiency in the execution of Month End Close procedures

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately and efficiently

• Proven Leadership development skills with the ability to guide and mentor team members

• Familiarity with Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry

• Strong understanding of Accounting Manager/Supervisor roles and responsibilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Advanced knowledge and experience with relevant accounting software and tools

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• CPA certification is a plus

• Prior experience in a similar role in the Real Estate industry is highly desirable

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
