School Business Administrator

Position:School Business Administrator

Minimum Salary:$145,000.00 Salary based on experience, training and education. Terms and Conditions of employment will be provided in the contract for the successful candidate.

Start Date:August 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Certification as School District Business Leader or equivalent.

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years in education, business management and accounting including experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Ability to work professionally & effectively with faculty, staff, students and administrators.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills, analytical & problem-solving skills, organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Accounting, budgeting or financial experience in a school setting required with Capital Project experience preferred.

• Experience working effectively and strategically with school officials and Board of Education and,

• Experience in supervision of Directors and Supervisors for Building and Grounds, Transportation and Food Service

• Demonstrate experience using technology as a management/business/finance tool.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent finds appropriate.

Description:The School Business Administrator will serve as a valued member of the Administrative Leadership Team and provide leadership in the area of finance and budgeting.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall operation of the district business office, food service program, buildings and ground department and pupil transportation.

• Develops the school budgets and provides all related financial and payroll functions which include monitoring cash flow and investments, developing policies and procedures for general accounting, record-keeping, purchasing, disbursement and custody of district funds.

• Responsible for employee evaluation, training and supervision of business office and Supervisors of school services

• Analyze and monitor on a daily basis the financial condition of the district and take corrective action as necessary by performing certain tasks or making recommendations for a change in the status of operation.

• Responsible to complete and file various local, state and federal reports required on a timely basis.

• Review major expenditures, grant approvals and school code requirements.

• Responsible for the coordination of the facility expansion or renovation programs.

• Serve as Chief Fiscal Advisor to the Superintendent and School Board, providing advice/counsel on matters relating to the fiscal and business affairs of the school district.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

• Attends and participates in Board of Education meetings

• Active member of Akron Community

Terms of Employment:The School Business Administrator position is a tenure track twelve-month school administrator position. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
