The Caterpillar Excavation Division Software Engineering Specialist uses a proven set of development skills, product knowledge and practical experience on HEX product in the design, development and installation of software solutions for both new and current production machines. The successful candidate will be able to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with Caterpillar coding standards and technical design along with coordinating its release and maintenance.

Job Duties:

• Lead and Coordinate New Product Introduction and Annual Product Update advanced software into Excavator platforms, following applicable safety standards for software implementation.

• Utilize integrated development environment tools to perform application and subsystem software architectural design, development, integration, and testing for the Excavator's primary platform through the usage of advanced programming languages, such as C/C++, HTML, XML/JSON, Python, Mathworks and Simulink.

• Utilize version control and planning software to manage coordination and implementation of application and subsystem features developed by a world-wide team into a functional architecture to achieve cost, schedule, and design requirements.

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and Excavation Division Process Partners

Top Candidates will have:

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Software development

• Understanding of the Agile software development process

• Familiarity with Autosar builder tools

• Experience with Microsoft DevOps
