Overview

Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking a Project Manager A forthe General Plant and Capital Projects organizationto be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

Responsibilities

This position provides leadership and execution of multiple engineering projects to meet the strategic objectives of the prime contract.

  • Establishes numerous diverse project management teams for complex projects providing policy direction, broad program direction, and establishing priorities needed to integrate numerous ongoing area projects.

  • Manages project cost, schedule, scope, and subcontract matrices, while adhering to Site quality, environmental, and safety objectives.

  • Manages established project costs, schedule, and technical baselines and provide effective management of project staff and matrix personnel to control baselines.

  • Provides concise and accurate oral and written presentations to internal and external customers regarding project implementation plans, status, changes and new approaches, including considerably complex technical, organizational and financial issues.

  • Conducts considerably complex analysis of problems involving numerous engineering disciplines. Develops innovative alternative action strategies enabling the early achievement of milestones. Performs risk analyses and provide decision authority for defining and approving corrective actions and establishing priorities.

  • Manages project efforts to ensure project progress is within schedule, cost, technical, environmental, and legal baselines. Ensures timely submittal of all required progress and status reports.

  • Acts as a technical project management advisor to assigned project management teams, peers, less experienced project managers, senior management, and external customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or related degree and experience in tank closure operations or related experience; or

  • Technical Master’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or related field and experience.

Addtional Information:

Candidates with non-techical Bachelor's degrees may qualify with years of equivalent demonstrated experience in project management, construction project management or related field experience on a case by case basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to apply and integrate the latest principles and methods of multiple engineering disciplines including design and construction in addition to business disciplines such as procurement, planning, scheduling, cost/budget control.

  • Detailed knowledge and application of DOE Orders and Regulations as well as industry codes and standards with emphasis National Environmental Policy Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, and Compensation and Liability Act.

  • Clear understanding of work hazards, safety programs, environmental law, legal and business concepts

  • PMP Certification

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification

  • EVMS (ANSI/EIA 748) experience; qualified CAMs

  • Experience in development, planning, budgeting, risk analysis, and performance of DOE projects

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. Minimum Pay

USD $125,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $220,000.00/Yr.
