Job Description

W.R. Grace is hiring a Manufacturing Specialist to work at our Aiken, SC manufacturing facility where we produce Kaolin Pulverized Clay.

As a Manufacturing Specialist, you will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for coordinating the production activities to include ensuring appropriate raw materials are available to meet product demands, along with overseeing packaging and finished products are shipped to customers in a timely manner. Relocation assistance may be offered.

Additional responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing of all plant supplies both production related and other

  • Preparing and reporting KPIs and metric

  • Work with the Maintenance team to coordinate maintenance activities

  • Prepares scheduling of employees to meet plant needs

  • Schedules manufacturing and shipping to assure timely delivery of product and receipt of raw materials

  • Performs all SAP data entry recording production, shipments, inventories and maintenance activities

  • Conforms to ISO 9000 standards in the performance of job

  • Continuously looks for opportunity to improvement plant performance and on-time delivery and implements solutions.

  • Other duties may be assigned

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. degree or GED

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Kaolin clay industry

  • Understanding of ISO 9000 requirements

  • Six sigma/lean manufacturing experience

  • Experience with SAP, Excel, and SharePoint
