Eaton Corporation Finance Supervisor in Aguascalientes, Mexico

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Finance Supervisor.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION :

A. Ensuring financial accounting activities at the location are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate policies and practice

B. Leading the development and analysis of forecasts and actual performance and operational metrics, as well as being responsible for the Plant budget process with a focus on cost savings projects and capital expenditures

C. Effective deployment of a comprehensive account reconciliation and balance sheet review process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. This hands-on position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting, month end close, planning, forecasting, and financial reporting activities maintaining forecast guidelines current and communicating proactively to Plant Controller of any risk or opportunity in a timely manner.

B. Provides leadership to ensure adequate cost accounting processes are in place, including standard cost updates, physical inventory verification, periodic cycle counts, etc. Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to plant, region/division, and corporate management. Control and maintain adequate product costing systems for valuation and cost estimating activities.

C. Review, analyze, and evaluate departments’ budget system. Develop and implement reports for management to evaluate results against performance targets.

D. Manage the deployment of cost saving and other programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability. Monitor and provide opportunities to support continuous improvement of Plant Productivity / Gross Utilization

E. Assist in development of finance department goals and objectives. Implement procedures necessary to lead department activities toward achievement of goals and objectives.

F. Recruit, train, and develop finance personnel to support individual career development and growth opportunities for subordinates to encourage individual progress and ensure efficient workforce. Advice, counsel, mentor, evaluate, and motivate finance personnel as necessary. Assist in the training of new

finance employees. Ensure an adequate on-boarding plan is in place prior to start date, with on-going status checks to ensure completion in line with scheduled milestones.

G. Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls deemed necessary to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting and activities; and safeguarding of plant assets in adherence with corporate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance of statutory requirements as applicable to the plant. Provide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all applicable statutory requirements as they apply to their areas of responsibility.

H. Implements, promotes, and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control, and manage risk and danger in own area.

Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE.

A. Improvement and Tech Management, Financial vision and acumen, Global perspective

B. Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

C. Bilingual: Spanish and English, the later one at least at 75% in both writing and verbal.

D. Three to five years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting is a plus.

E. Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports.

F. Superior analytical and thinking skills; Intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability

G. Strong Interpersonal Skills to communicate with customer as well as Eaton Management.

H. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheet software packages Excel

I. Sound working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, and local statutory requirements.

J. Understanding of global business issues, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols and local customs and duty requirements.
