Actalent Lab Assistant I in Agoura Hills, California
Entry level opportunity Great opportunity to get a foot in the door in the healthcare/medical industry
Description:
Assists with loading and unloading of specimens on the Hamilton pipetting instruments including capping and uncapping samples labeling aliquot tubes pulling errors and sorting aliquots.
Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
Sorts specimens into appropriate station for manual pipetting.
Returns specimens to appropriate locations.
Performs discard and relocation of specimen racks.
Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix CLIA CAP and other regulatory bodies.
Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs instrument function checks troubleshooting and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job-related duties requested by department management.
