Overview

Singer Kittredge Equipment Company, the largest foodservice equipment and supplies distributor in the New England region, is hiring an experienced full timeExtra Driverto join their warehouse team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive/operate box truck to transport orders between customer locations.

  • Manually handle equipment from pallets and load to hand truck to transport customer orders into the facility.

  • Utilize palletjack to move pallets of product to and from truck to delivery location.

  • Communicate with customer and/or supervisor using handheld devices.

  • Conduct daily inspection of truck prior to departure.

  • Manually break down freight and receive into computer system.

  • Put away product utilizing powered industrial equipment.

  • Perform tasks in a safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Proactively identify and report workplace hazards.

  • Periodic use of hand and power tools.

  • Assist with warehouse activities when a delivery route is not scheduled.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Work a varied schedule to fulfill delivery of product to customer (dayshift hours but may include early mornings and/or late evenings.)

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, reach, squat and bend during an assigned shift.

  • Clean driving history

  • Pass DOT Medical and Physical Examination and other clearances

  • Excellent Customer Service and communication skills

  • Basic Math/Reading Skills

  • 6 months driving (Class B) experience preferred

  • Able to follow predetermined routing/directions

  • Works well in a team environment and with minimal supervision
