The Toro Company Extrusion Technician in Adelaide, Australia

Toro is seeking an Extrusion Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team and play a crucial role in the production of extruded products and components.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the consistent quality, safety, and performance standards of the extrusion process. This role requires the ability to take overall and single-shift responsibility for the extrusion operations. Join us and become a valued member of our dedicated team!

What will you do?

  • Coordinating the activities of the shift to ensure efficient running of the extrusion lines to conform with Toro production and quality standards.

  • Operating the extrusion lines to ensure product complies with quality and performance standards.

  • Performing and directing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on equipment.

  • Directing the day-to-day activities of the Extrusion Operator (and other casual labour required), during shift.

  • Extruded and molded product testing while maintaining quality records.

  • Troubleshooting faults and identifying causes of manufacturing defects.

  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Sample taking and visual inspection of molded product.

This is a 24/7 rotating day and night shifts role, and is key to the performance and efficiency of our 24-hour production operation. Reliability is essential.

What do you need?

  • Prior experience as a machine operator within a manufacturing setting and with plastic extrusion (desirable but not priority).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude coupled with well-developed problem solving and diagnostic skills.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and also co-operatively as part of a successful team, and perform work to company standards.

  • High levels of energy and motivation, coupled with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

  • A valid forklift license (desirable).
