The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close and reporting process within the corporate function of the accounting department. The corporate accountant’s responsibilities include preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, review of multi-location P&L against forecast and prior periods, assisting with financial statement audits and performing other accounting duties as assigned. The corporate accountant reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of full cycle accounting, detail-oriented, analytical, and has great interpersonal and communication skills to interface with management and other departments within the organization.

Location:  Addison, TX (Hybrid/Remote)

 RESULTS MEASURED BY THE FOLLOWING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the monthly financial close processes including journal entry preparation for areas including debt, prepaids, cash applications, and expense accruals

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports

  • Perform variance analysis of budget vs actual results for any assigned areas

  • Respond to questions and issues and provide analysis/support to operations and other functional areas

  • Reconcile and maintain assigned balance sheet accounts

  • Assist with special projects related to process improvements

  • Assist with establishing, modifying, and documenting accounting procedures

  • Complete Ad Hoc requests as needed

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar experience required

  • Two or more years of experience in GL accounting and/or financial reporting required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, index match and v-lookups

  • Experience with Great Plains, or similar general ledger platform preferred
