POSITION SUMMARY BART\'s Principal is essential to the success of the students, faculty, and staff. Serving as the chief academic affairs and student affairs officer and reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Principal must be a dynamic, passionate, and extraordinary educational leader. We are searching for a Principal who will begin at BART on or before July 1, 2024. The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate impressive results, excellent judgment, and strong relationship skills through previous educational and instructional leadership. The Principal will collaborate with the Executive Director, setting high standards and leading BART\'s faculty to improve instruction and educational outcomes for all students. The new Principal will join the Executive Director in creating and implementing a new multi-year strategic plan to advance the School\'s work towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion. The salary range, commensurate with experience, is \$105,000 to \$125,000 per year. QUALIFICATIONS - Demonstrated success in teaching and instructional leadership roles at the high school and/or middle school level. - At least three (3) years of significant experience as an academic leader, preferably as Principal. - At least five (5) years as a full-time and demonstrably successful high school or middle school teacher. - Demonstrated success with data-driven teaching and learning approaches to education. - Demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing multi-tiered systems of academic and/or behavioral support. - Significant educational achievement with the minimum of a Master\'s degree in education, teaching, or an academic discipline along with the minimum required school administrative experience. - Knowledge of and active participation in national discussions of public education, preferably with direct experience with charter public school movements and trends. - Superb critical thinking and decision-making skills. - Ability to handle the unforeseen challenges of a responsive school environment. - Ability to participate in school activities on-site or in the community that fall outside normal school hours. - Skilled in planning, and communicating, orally and in writing with diverse audiences, including parents, students, faculty, staff, and the community as a whole. - Facility for, comfort with, and enthusiasm for use of technology in instruction and in operation of an innovative and forward-looking charter public school. - Tireless advocate for students and teachers and willingness to be an ever-present academic and student affairs leader. - Sincere and expressed joy and pride in student diversity.
