Responsibilities

  • An engineering degree and/or a Project Management qualification, ideally at the Master's level. A Business/Commercial qualification would be considered desirable.

  • Minimum 10+ years related experience - Must have Engineering Degree. (Not used for Mfg, Supply Chain or R&D).

  • Incumbent must be a professional engineer and possess working knowledge and hands-on experience in Drilling and Completion Operations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (Both Oral and Written).

  • Field operations experience In drilling and completing wells.

  • Technical competency with product line operations and equipment.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Good surface and sub-surface understanding of Oil/Gas field development.

  • Commercial and project economics experience.

  • Good understanding of risk assessment and mitigation process.

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.

  • Experience in problem solving.

  • Competency in Microsoft office products

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines as required.

  • Detailed knowledge of current flow modelling Software.

  • Presents themselves as a leader focusing on leading a team.

Qualifications

The GZ Engineering Manager is Responsible for Managing the Daily Activities.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Manage daily activities of MPD project engineering group for MPD, PMCD, DDV operations for the GZ.

  • Technical support for GZ product line business development, tenders as well as engineering proposals.

  • Work closely with the sales and account management team to ensure MPD market is increased, clients are educated to increase Weatherford MPD market share in the GZ.

  • Work closely with the GZ Operation’s Managers to ensure wells are drilled safely and as designed.

  • Ensure equipment specifications meet project requirements.

  • Participate or delegate in HazOP,HazID and risk assessments reviews.

  • Recruit, train and develop the career the GZ engineering team.

  • Implement engineering training program and assist in coordinating development of GZ Specific training material

  • Coordinate and approve the preparation of proposals, MPD drilling procedures, drilling programs, and engineering reports.

  • Establish manpower needs and manage resource optimization and recruiting process.

  • Lead developing & implementing standard processes and procedures for the product line’s as per GZ and global requirements.

  • Ensure WPTS is kept up to date for all jobs & activities performed.

  • Coordinate with operations managers and workshop managers to optimize resources on a GZ basis.

  • Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by line management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfill these.

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.

  • Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company’s, Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Safety Management Systems.

  • Participate in performing MPD HAZOPS/HAZID

  • Work closely with the GZ quality leadership team to ensure Weatherford quality standard are followed.

  • Work closely with the GZ sales team to ensure PL participation in the industry conferences.
