Pactiv Evergreen Plant Maintenance (Tooling) Lead in ABILENE, Texas

Job Requirements:

  • Must be self-starting, disciplined, team-oriented with capabilities of working with others in assigned tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Read blueprints, use precision type instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, and operate all machine shop equipment (lathes, surface grinders, etc.)
  • Maintain necessary records, identify faulty parts and provide the proper information, in the form of a requisition, in order that spare parts and supplies can be ordered. Keep all mold books current as required
  • Must be on call on a rotating basis to assist any shift as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Check tooling to blueprints
  • Other duties as necessary

Job Description:

  • Supports the plants Extrusion and Thermoforming Manufacturing Technology with a goal of improving profitability and overall teams skills
  • Manage daily changeovers ensuring successful mold and trim tooling set up, automation equipment readiness, and set plan for startup of the line
  • Will manage a team of 20+ from the mold shop and automation
  • Manage all tooling that flows through the facility ensuring the inventory is accurate, repairs are managed and coordinated through internal and external support channels
  • Work directly with all departments to troubleshoot open issues with production on a daily basis
  • Work closely with the quality team to provide responses to customer complaints and coordinate long-term corrective actions
  • Focus on continually improving changeover processes to drive down time from startup to first good case
  • Partner with central engineering on new tooling designs to support product trials or improve production on current tool

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Three to five years of previous machinist and tooling experience

Ability to read blueprints
