The Opportunity:

Within the Software Engineering Center (SEC), you will support the Command, Control, and Communications Tactical (C3T) Division by providing System Engineering support by ensuring emerging software has been correctly developed, documented, and is supportable during post deployment. Software suitability and supportability are paramount in maintaining SEC C3T’s mission as the software technical lead in the evaluation, insertion, and integration of emerging software technology.

Responsibilities:

  • In this role, a candidate will provide system engineering services for the development and follow-on Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS) activities for the Mission Command Division (MCD) Development Branch’s portfolio of systems and support. Along with the overall team, the candidate will be responsible for providing system and software engineering support to command and control (C2) systems, common operational picture (COP), real-time situational awareness, and the enabling infrastructure for Project Manager Mission Command (PM MC) Systems. The System Engineer will be responsible for ensuring software has been correctly developed, documented, and is supportable during post deployment.

  • The System Engineer must be able to:

  • Interact with users to translate their requirements into system, hardware, and software requirements and design Solve engineering problems (or manage the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned.

  • Sync with developers to collect builds, apply configuration management, provide application documentation, and validate completeness of build

  • Participate in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Scientific or Technical discipline.

  • Three years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with linux scripting and container management (Kubernettes).

  • Experience with networking.

  • Experience with Information security tools.

  • Experience with Experience with Network monitoring.

  • Network mapping Vulnerability scanning.

  • Experience with Operating systems - Windows, Linux/UNIX.

  • Experience with Containers and container management software.

  • Experience with Scripting.

  • Experience with Command line tools.

  • Experience with Testing and debugging.

  • Experience with Enterprise Linux/Windows environment.

  • Experience with Assist with implementing DISA STIG's to Linux/Windows OS.

Desired:

  • Microsoft Enterprise Configuration Manager / Software Center Configuration Manager (MECM / SCCM).

  • Understating of Basic Windows SysAdmin Functions (Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.).

  • PowerShell Scripting.

  • Windows Server Update Service (WSUS).

  • Basic knowledge of Hardening Operating Systems and IAVM’s.

  • Basic Understanding of JSON and XML / CSV.

  • Basic Understanding of Patching (in general).

  • Communication Skills, needs to be able to talk and communicate effectively.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100 - 172,400 USD
