VES, LLC Systems Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

VES LLC seeks aSystem Engineerto support our AFATDS teamatPicatinny, NJ. The candidate will employ system engineering practices and processes in support of creating the next version of the Army's Fires Support Command and Control application. In this role the candidate will conduct all phases of System Engineering from Concept through Verification and Validation. The primary focus is on requirements analysis and traceability, functional analysis, systems analysis, technical performance monitoring, developing strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (safety, operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) and system product life cycle processes. This role can be performed 100% remotely, but ideal candidates will be located in MD or NJ.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Develop operational concepts, requirements, and architectural designs; Evolve system architectures, conduct, and analyze requirements flow down, propose verification methodologies mitigation approaches
  • Conduct mission analysis to define technical requirements and interfaces, provide analysis of alternatives, guide development, evaluate expected performance against requirements and mission needs, and support calibration activities
  • Experience with Risk Management processes
  • System architecture, design, anddevelopment/integrationexperience
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including US Government officials, Military Officers, Other Contractors, and end users
  • Conduct risk management processes and methods for identifying and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop briefings and assessments for a variety of audiences, and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive in moving program forward through team collaborations to achieve timely decisions, ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture
  • Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with systems engineering and modeling tools (e.g. Cameo, Enterprise Architect).
  • Army domain experience including previous work related to Fires Support Command and Control systems
  • Experience in reliability, maintainability and operability analysis and execution
  • Experience with system safety certification processes. Preferably one or more of these standards ISO 26262, DO-178, FACE, MIL-STD-882 Rev. E.
  • Knowledgeable about component specification development.
  • Understanding the entire product life cycle.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, eligible for a security clearance with the DOD
  • Must have a B.S. degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another technical field and 5-10 years of relevant experience
