Intrepid Solutions and Services Reverse Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Overview

We are looking for a Reverse Engineer specializing in UAS/RCIED, and robotics to support the dissection, analysis, and understand of the design, function, and technology of new and emerging threats. This roles will support the replication, exploitation, amd analysis of commercial threats program. This program provides engineer support to counter growing multi- and cross-doman threats and protect U.S. forces around the world from commerical threats.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reverse engineering to include research, testing / debugging, performance validation, quality control, and deployment.

  • Research new technologies and techniques.

  • Perform analysis and reverse engineering of state of the art electronics.

  • Perform investigation, evaluation, and application of new technologies.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • This position operates on a standard 8 hour schedule Monday - Friday.

TRAVEL:

  • This position requires up to 10% of local travel.

Qualifications

CLEARANCE:

  • Active and current Top Secret clearance at the time of application. Ability to obtain SCI.

EDUCATION:

  • MA/MS and 5yrs experience, or;

  • BA/BS in Computer Engineering or related field and 7 years of experience.

CERTIFICATION(S):

  • N/A

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant understanding of Networking, Cybersecurity, Linux, Cryptography (public/private key pairs, symmetric, and asymmetric ciphers), and computer programming (C++/Python) and debugging.

  • Experience with networking and communication protocols (TCP/IP, I2C, SPI, UART), Linux, ARM, and Android internal processing and kernels for both operating systems and applications.

  • Understanding of RF Communications with a focus on circuitry, benchtop equipment experience (SpecAn, SigGen, O-Scope, et al), and performing standard RF measurements (e.g., operating frequency, occupied bandwidth, average power, pulse width, etc.). 

  • Experience with either IDA Pro or Ghidra, a significant understanding of reverse engineering tasks (static/dynamic analysis, machine code emulation, and firmware review), the ability to perform independent open-source research, and a comprehensive understanding of integrated circuit architectures.

  • Experience with soldering and re-working electronic circuit boards and components (e.g. through-hole, surface mount, cable assemblies, wire harnesses).

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic circuit boards and components.

  • Experience in electronic schematic generation and printed circuit board (PCB) layout. 

  • Solid background in practical electronics and/or RF theory.
