NetSEA Technologies Electrical Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Position Description

NetSEA Technologies is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team to support the DEVCOM C5ISR Prototyping Integration Facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing fundamental engineering duties in electrical design efforts, to include development, integration, testing, measuring, and performing systems analyses and/or simulations for a variety of mobile platforms. The Electrical Design Engineer will work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that projects are completed on time, and meet quality standards.

Clearance Level: DoD SECRET or higher clearance preferred.

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Hours: Normal business hours Monday - Friday

Travel: up to 15%

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Formulate engineering objectives and project requirements, including conducting research and analysis, evaluating system design options, and making recommendations based on technical and performance considerations.

• Develop conceptual and layout designs for C5ISR systems, sub-systems, components, installation kits, and systems-of-systems for integration into ground-based, vehicular, shelter, airborne, watercraft, soldier and dismounted platforms, both tactical and non-tactical, and into fixed and re-locatable sites.

• Design C5ISR systems for the electro-magnetic environment, including mitigating EMI/RFI interference, surge suppression, EMP/HEMP and lightning strike protection.

• Perform engineering design and analyses, such as Size, Weight and Power, Location (SWAP-L) analysis, CAD and 3D modeling, electrical power/signal distribution assemblies, printed circuit boards, data busses, power and signal entrance panels, power distribution panels, signal interface panels.

• Produce technical data/drawing packages, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, "Build-to-Print," conceptual level, developmental level, and production level.

• Conduct engineering experimentation, including electrical test plans and design and development of test fixtures for cables and electronics assemblies.

• Provide subject matter expert engineering consulting services, including engineering support, technical input, and consultation to Safety Assessment.

• Provide engineering source data to logistics processes, including participating in logistics planning and coordination efforts.

• Perform engineering project management and coordination, including providing technical coordination of the systems integration process and technical reviews, technical reports, and other engineering documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in C5ISR system design and integration, including rapid prototyping and limited production manufacturing.

• Experience with military electrical design standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and MIL-STD-1275.

• Experience with SWAP analysis and CAD/3D modeling software such as SolidWorks.

• Familiarity with electrical power/signal distribution assemblies, printed circuit boards, data busses, power and signal entrance panels, power distribution panels, and signal interface panels.

• Familiarity with surge suppression, EMP/HEMP, and lightning strike protection techniques.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
