ASRC Federal Holding Company Quality Assurance System Engineer - Senior in Aberdeen, Maryland

Job Description

ASRC Federal is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Systems Engineer to support their work with the Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (C5ISR) located at APG, MD. Individuals must be able to perform all functional duties independently, with limited supervision. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for some flexibility to work remotely. However, it necessitates regular on-site presence at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, to provide support.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions.

  • Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics from a software quality perspective and a system performance perspective.

  • Review and assist with the development of Quality Management Plans.

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

  • Validate that detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases meet software system specifications, and performance requirements.

  • Support estimation, prioritization, planning, and coordination test activities.

  • Lead efforts to design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.

  • Support identification, recording, tracking, and thoroughly documenting bugs.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.

  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.

  • Integrate modern QA testing tools and test strategies.

  • Develop and present technical quality and test information to Senior DoD leadership.

Requirements :

Qualifications :

  • Agile software development, DevSecOps best practices, CI/CD pipeline experience.

  • Experience with leading QA and/or testing for system development technical projects.

  • Knowledge of software development/DevSecOps cloud-based environments, ideally AWS DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) clouds.

  • Knowledge of DoD standards and principles such asModular Open Systems Approach (MOSA).

  • Proven work experience in software development.

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Experience with both white box and black box testing.

  • Experience with automated testing tools.

  • Experience with performance and/or security testing.

  • Proven expertise in customer engagement, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Agile Scrum master certifications (g. Safe Scrum Master, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM))

  • Understanding of DoD Intelligence, Command and Control systems, architectures, and communications protocols.

  • Experience working within a hybrid cloud environment.

  • Experience developing technical papers and presentations.

Clearance Requirement

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmentalized Information eligibility.

Experience and Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Math, IT, Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years research, development or operations experience working with cross functional teams.
