ASRC FEDERAL (Agile Decision Sciences) is seeking a Software Engineer Intermediate (Windows Systems Engineer) for our contract located at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This position is REMOTE with occasional travel to customer site required.

Software Engineer Intermediate (Windows Systems Engineer)

As we continue to enhance our IT infrastructure and software capabilities, we are seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team in various key roles. Each position plays a crucial part in maintaining and advancing our environment, ensuring seamless operations and robust support for CECOM personnel worldwide.

Position Description: This position supports Windows system engineering efforts under ASRC Federal’s CECOM SETA Support within the PEO EIS MSP. The PEO EIS MSP ensures that the U.S. Army’s Windows-based systems are maintained, configured, and secured to meet operational demands. As a Software Engineer Intermediate (Windows Systems Engineer), you will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting Windows servers, supporting essential software, and ensuring system reliability and security.

Requirements :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another Engineering or Technical discipline is required.

  • 5 years within the last 8 years of experience with knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.

  • Capable of managing servers, including installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

  • Must provide essential software support for laptops, desktop computers, and printers, including hardware configuration, software testing, and network design.

  • Must be capable of monitoring system configuration, including server event logs, and testing operating system and networking software.

  • Must be capable of monitoring and developing backup procedures for servers.

  • Fully Information Assurance (IA) certified IAW AR 25-2 and DoD 8570.01-M.

  • Must be U.S citizen eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Windows Server administrator.

  • Proficiency in Windows Server 2019/2022 administration.

  • Hands-on experience with Group Policy Object (GPO) Administration.

  • Experience operating Windows servers in AWS cloud environments.

  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell or similar).

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Windows or other applicable Technical Certification.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of DoD security requirements and compliance (STIG/ACAS).

  • Knowledge of ERP SAP environments.

  • Linux Administration knowledge.

  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow.

  • Experience working in an Agile Framework environment.

  • Experience performing Windows in-place upgrades.

  • Experience with WSUS patching issues.
