Auto Accessory Installer

Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Summary:

  • Install various automobile accessories on new vehicles.

    Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work safely

  • Communicate any safety or quality concerns

  • Drive manual and standard transmission motor vehicles, at all times, in accordance with company and customer instructions/procedures

  • Inspect all customer vehicles for damage before beginning work

  • Confirm all parts, accessory codes and numbers before beginning work

  • Inspect parts before installing

  • Follow all written work processes

  • Post installation inspection

  • Sign off on Quality accountability documentation for every install;

  • Accountability for hand tools, torque wrenches and light power tools;

  • Keeping work areas clear of waste and debris

    Experience Requirements:

  • Mechanically Inclined

  • Automotive lift experience preferred but not required

    Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Ability

    Skills, Licenses, Certification, and/or Special Training:

  • Must maintain a valid state driver's license if required to operate company equipment;

  • Meet and maintain all requirements contained in the Conditions of Employment policy.

    Physical, Mental & Sensory Requirements:

  • Ability to constantly work in an indoor/outdoor environment, exposed to all weather elements, including extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions

  • Constantly required to use bending, kneeling, twisting and walking motions on uneven surfaces throughout entire work shift

  • Constantly perform prolonged standing and/or walking at a rapid pace to keep up with demands of plant operations up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift

  • Possess physical strength and agility to constantly open and close automobile doors throughout shift

  • Ability to rarely lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to push and pull at a force of up to 100 lbs.

  • Must be able to hear and communicate, work or safety instructions spoken in a normal voice

  • Ability to read Vehicle Identification Numbers and other shipping documents

  • Must have visual acuity and normal depth perception in both eyes to inspect and drive motor vehicles in limited lighting to include night/dusk and inside plant operations

  • Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment

  • Must be able to walk on a moving assembly line belt
