Veterans Inc. Event Coordinator in 69 Grove St, United States

With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, is seeking to fill the Event Coordinator position. Under the general direction of the Fund Development Manager the Event Coordinator is a key member of the Development team and is responsible for overseeing fundraising/community events and volunteers. This position is onsite within the Development Office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

  • Project manages all fundraising and community events, including promotional and marketing materials, content coordination, ticket sales, guest list management, financial management, and budget monitoring.

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities.

  • Responsible for the annual volunteer appreciation event.

  • Assists with the coordination of the annual Recovery Summit.

  • Point of contact for event rental inquiries and external groups wanting to use the headquarters facility.

  • Point of contact for volunteer inquiries.

  • Responsible for the overall volunteer administrative needs, including all paperwork, appropriate background checks, maintaining/scheduling calendar, annual evaluations, monthly volunteer hours report, etc.

  • Assist with creating and updating volunteer paperwork, descriptions, and policies/procedures.

  • Assist with nominating volunteers for external awards.

    WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is required. Master's Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years of successful event and volunteer coordination. 6-8 years preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and platforms for designing flyers and other materials related to events Canva and Adobe.

  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills with strong grammar and proofreading.

  • Must be able to confidently and successfully manage competing deadlines and prioritize to accomplish tasks.

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • Exceptional project management skills (prioritizing, timeline, budget, procedure, reporting, and evaluation) required.

  • This position requires some travel, so reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license are required.

  • Must be able to pass a CORI/Background records successfully check.
