Aldaview Services, a division of Tri-County Mennonite Homes (TCMH), is a not-for-profit service agency located in New Hamburg that has provided leadership in service to developmentally disabled individuals for over 30 years. Our growing and changing organization is searching for a Summer Student to be part of the Aldaview Services staff team.

About the Role:

  • Provide day to day administrative support to the team

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.

  • Computer skills an asset.

  • An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with people with developmental disabilities and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.

  • Excellent telephone manner.

  • Highly organized and able to work in a busy environment

  • Professional appearance and behavior.

  • Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Experience working with people with a developmental disability would be an asset

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and problem solving skills

  • An interest in working with adults with a developmental disability

Summer Opportunities generally start in May and end at the beginning of September. These jobs may be funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) or Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

  • Be between 15-30 years of age at beginning of employment period

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations

*If you do not meet the above criteria you can still apply as we may have opportunities available over and above the SWPP.

New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.

Tri-County Mennonite Homes does not require COVID-19 vaccination as a part of the onboarding process, however TCMH continues to strongly recommend "up-to-date" COVID-19 vaccinations.
