About the Position:

The Primary Direct Support provides leadership to a team of Direct support professionals, overseeing the caseload for clients participating in a specific program area and reports to the program Manager. They provide direct support to clients and liaise with families and community partners.

Wage:

$26.24 to $29.95 Hourly

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/or a two-year diploma program, preferably in the Social Services field, with a preference to DSW, or enrolled in a related college or university program.

  • Minimum of two years' related experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential and community setting

  • CPR, First Aid, NVCI

  • Must have an ‘G' class license

  • Experience supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience providing leadership to a staff team and demonstrated working knowledge of individuals with diverse physical and mental health needs in a residential or community setting

  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate respectfully, openly and honestly.

  • Ability to advocate for others

  • A creative problem solver

  • Ability to provide strong leadership to a team and promote a positive work environment
