Tri-County Mennonite Homes Manager, Aldaview Services in 200 Boullee Street, Ontario
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager will be an integral member of the Aldaview Services Community team. This position provides leadership to a team of Primary Direct Support workers and Direct Support Workers. The successful candidate will prioritize the needs within the division, in collaboration with the Leadership Team. With a “can do” attitude, they will demonstrate a culture of customer service excellence and person-centered care. They will foster communication and a supportive team network for the Aldaview Services' staff and will promote systems to improve quality outcomes, legislative compliance and safe business practices, in line with company policies.
Purpose
To provide leadership and supervision to front line staff and ensure that supported people receive quality support.

Key Accountabilities
Staff Supervision
Conduct regular staff team meetings
Ensure that direct reports are given appropriate training
Ensure that new staff receive orientation
Conduct performance appraisals on direct reports prior to completion of probation and thereafter annually
Ensure all shift duties are carried out by staff
Participate in recruitment and hiring of front line staff
Engage in on-going development of all staff
Documentation & Finances
Ensure accountability of all client personal finances
Ensure that support plans are developed and appropriately executed
Ensure all health and safety requirements in each location are completed
Support staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of all support plans, protocols and health and safety needs of the individuals supported
Family & Public Relations
Assist staff with nurturing positive family/caregiver relationships
In consultation with the Executive Director, determine appropriate response to families when concerns arise
Participate in community activities that increase awareness of Aldaview Services
Ensure staff understand the impact of being good neighbours
Advocate for Community inclusion for all individuals receiving supports
Team Building and Evaluations
Build and sustain teams that are capable of delivering quality work and meets goals.
Establish effective working relationships with direct reports by:
Soliciting opinions related to: the work environment; potential changes affecting their work; and continuous improvement opportunities
Providing opportunities for the further development of their skills and knowledge.
Promoting workplace wellness initiatives
Promote and optimize teamwork by:
Setting the context for effective co-operation and teamwork within and between staff teams
Clearly articulates the linkage among team members' roles

Manage performance of direct reports by:
Setting appropriate goals and objectives
Assessing skills and knowledge gaps, allocating resources to address skills and knowledge gaps

Qualifications
Post secondary education/certificate or related experience
1-3 years management experience and training in the social services sector
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to mentor and develop staff
Sense of responsibility, integrity and confidentiality
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously with supported individuals, public, employees, families and volunteers
Ability to demonstrate resource management, and the ability to maintain neat work area
Good organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Key Relationships
Reports to: Aldaview Executive Director
Supervisors: Direct Supports, Primary Direct Supports
Interfaces and/or builds relationships with: Aldaview Leadership Team, TCMH Divisional Leadership teams, Divisional Administration/Corporate Office, Managers at other like-minded organizations as appropriate, Relevant Ministry and Compliance agencies/personnel as required
