BT TV and BT Sport Product are seeking an established Product Designer to join the team, to work across the consumer facing, cross-platform apps and experiences. You will play a vital role in helping to define the future strategy of the products and optimise the in-life experiences.

The Product Designer is tasked with creating the experience across multiple devices and platforms including (not limited to) Set top boxes, TV, mobile, Web and games consoles…

More than ever, the success of a product can be attributed to the product design. Providing access to the right content is only the start. Creating products that are easy to use, help users discover new content and delight is the key.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design the user experience across all TV entertainment and BT Sport products, including new product launches and in-life improvements

  • Work closely with the wider Product team to define TV & Sport product changes

  • Champion a user-centred design approach in your day to day, as well as educating others in the business.

  • Defining core design system elements and managing its evolution

  • Mentor others in great Product Design thinking and practice

  • Create engaging experiences which will delight our customers

  • Create e2e design solutions, managing user journey / flows, edge cases, wireframes, high fidelity output and prototypes

  • Working with internal and external research practitioners.

  • Coordinate and attend user research sessions (face to face, remote, panels) across the team, either in-house, with our set top box partner YouView, or 3rd party

  • Use data and user insight to drive your design direction and solutions

Skills and experience needed:

  • Experience working in an e2e product design position

  • Good understanding of the pay TV, video subscription andSport industries

  • Expert understanding of interface design fundamentals

  • A proven ability to work autonomously, switch context (adapting to change in direction) and manage conflicting priorities

  • You should be able to effectively present and sell your work to stakeholders, with outstanding communication skills

  • Strong commercial awareness of how a good UX drives success and strong instinct for the consumer

  • Proven experience working with TV platforms or games consoles / large screen apps

  • You must demonstrate an understanding of the complexity and challenges of designing for a multi-platformproduct

  • Examples of iOS, Android and responsive Web design experience

  • Excellent clarity in wireframes, logic flows, prototypes and documentation

  • Experience of using Figma or similar design tools, such as Sketch as well as creating and managing a design system

  • Knowledge of software development and code languages, is a bonus

  • Education (Degree) in product design or equivalent qualification
