About the Product

Oracle Enterprise Manager is Oracle's premier database and Engineered Systems management platform, providing customers a comprehensive management and monitoring solution for all their on-premise and Cloud-based databases, Exadatas, and Recovery Appliances. Through deep integration with Oracle's entire product stack, Enterprise Manager brings unique, full-spectrum management capabilities to all Oracle Database domain areas, including performance, high availability, and security. These value-added features are amplified by a full suite of advanced Engineered Systems management features, including performance analytics and capacity planning.

This position is for a full stack engineer in the database management and engineered systems area of the Oracle Enterprise Manager product. Oracle Enterprise Manager is Oracle’s on-premises management platform, providing a single pane of glass for managing all of a customer's Oracle deployments, whether in their data centers or in Oracle Cloud. Through deep integration with Oracle’s product stack, Enterprise Manager Database Management provides a full-lifecycle solution for managing databases encompassing change and configuration management, patching, provisioning, testing, masking/subsetting, performance management and automatic tuning. Team members work on adding enhancements to support new features, such as adding UI support for new database features. We also fix issues with existing features.

About the Job

This opening is for a full stack Senior Software Engineer in the Enterprise Manager Database and Engineered Systems Management team. You will work with an experienced, dynamic team of software engineers, test engineers and product managers to design and implement complex, UI-driven database and Engineered Systems management functionality using a wide variety of technologies, including Java, JDBC, Oracle JET, REST, JSON, GIT, Python, Perl, Oracle RAC, and Oracle Data Guard.

In addition to core development responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to address challenging customer problems that occur within complex topologies involving operating systems, databases, clustering, distributed systems, networks, and cloud infrastructure. If you are interested in leveraging your knowledge of software architecture and algorithms to solve interesting, real-world problems, then this is the role for you.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a software developer, preferably with an enterprise-scale, multi-tier product

  • 2+ years of experience with Java or another high-level programming language

  • 2+ years of experience with database-related development

  • Working-level experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and JDBC

  • Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms

  • Excellent debugging skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field

  • Interest in learning new technologies

  • Interest in becoming a domain-area expert in a specific area of database or Engineered Systems management

  • Ability and desire to be a true full-stack developer, working at all levels of the stack
