Amazon Program Manager, DS2 Localization in Zapopan, Mexico

Description

The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics and software. We have produced groundbreaking devices like Fire Tablets, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring and Alexa.

Our team is currently seeking a passionate and talented Localization Program Manager with a track record of delivery, ownership and execution of international projects across software and services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collect business and systems requirements from internal customers, write project plans, and drive project schedules from development commit to release.

  • Lead and coordinate design/implementation efforts to develop optimal solutions to support the localization program across engineering, editorial and QA verticals.

  • Work with content creators, customer strategy owners, and content infrastructure teams to define and streamline processes upstream and drive internationalization best practices.

  • Clearly communicate roadmaps, progress, risks and change control to senior management and internal cross-functional and remote project teams.

  • Manage, execute and own traditional localization program management tasks, such as working with stakeholders to define localization scope, coordinating handoffs and handbacks with language service providers, supporting deployment of localized assets as well as bug fixing, implementation and testing.

  • Understand how to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-delivery.

About the team

DS2 Localization is accountable for delivering software and content localization solutions across Amazon Devices families, including Alexa (voice and UI), FireTV (devices and televisions), Tablet, Kindle eReader, Ring, eero and others. The team consists of program managers, linguistic editors, localization engineers, QA and managers - located predominately in Seattle, Luxembourg and Chennai, India.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience leading process improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years Localization experience
