We are currently hiring a Reproductive Health Medical Assistant based in Worcester. Using a team-based approach to care, the Medical Assistant works with Women’s health team members to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care to the specific population. Responsible for the coordination and quality assurance for the OB/GYN specialty clinic at the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center and to provide health education services to patients including family planning, counseling, and education, pregnancy testing, options counseling and education on sexually transmitted infections.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs Office Visit Planning/reviews EHR prior to the start of the session and is part of a pre-visit huddle with WH team members

  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors. Ensures exam rooms are kept clean, organized, and fully stocked. Maintain an inventory of contraceptive supplies and distribute as appropriate.

  • Performs point-of-care testing, clinical procedures, and assessments according to Health Center policies and procedures.

  • Prepares patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments including assisting in Colposcopy clinic and to perform all duties related to the smooth functioning of

colposcopy services at the health center including scheduling issues, equipment and instrument maintenance and assisting in the development of procedures.

  • To assist the OB/GYN specialty clinic at the health center tracking all referral to outside GYN and making sure that patients keep their appointment.

  • Assist WH Coordinator with tracking high risk perinatal patients who have transferred because of high-risk conditions. Assist with tracking all the OB ultrasounds that have been ordered and scheduling follow up on normal reports.

    Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

​​​​​​​​​​​​Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program

  • CPR certification

  • 1-2 years’ specialty care experience in Women’s Health.

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations

  • Knowledge of community resources

  • Bilingual preferred
