Job Description:

Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has a new Clinical Lead RN opening in our emergency room. Be part of the mission to deliver exceptional personalized care within our Magnet-designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 229-bed hospital. As a Clinical Lead Nurse for our Emergency Room Team, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Works collaboratively with the nurse manager/director in the planning and implementing of patient care and performance improvement for a specific unit.

  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in the assigned area and fosters a climate of clinical and professional excellence.

  • Promotes patient care continuity and enhances patient throughput.

  • Functions effectively in patient crisis situations. Coordinates the triage, stabilization and/or transfer of patients to the appropriate level of care. Supports staff, patients and others as workload increases and effectively redirects staff to increase productivity.

  • Responsible and accountable for the day to day operational decision making, and oversees the Registered Nurses and ancillary staff in the performance of their daily duties.

  • Develops and promotes collaborative and collegial relationships with physicians and interdepartmental personnel in order to enhance patient care and patient flow.

  • Mentors, coaches, and directs personnel to ensure provision of effective and safe patient care according to established standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or obtain BSN within 5 years of hire

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

  • At least two years of work experience as a nurse and one year clinical experience relevant to the unit’s patient population

Schedule: Combination of 8 & 12 hour shifts including every third weekend and holiday group rotation
