Asplundh Tree Experts (Asplundh) is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Asplundh Digital Innovation Team, reporting to the Digital Product Manager.

This role supports the Asplundh Digital Innovation Team and Vegetation Management Operations by delivering relevant, accurate, and timely insights for decision-makers.

A Data Analyst on the Asplundh Digital Innovation Team will gather, process, and examine data to provide solutions and insights for different business problems. The Data Analyst uses various types and sources of data such as geospatial, financial or field acquired operations data, and applies various techniques and tools such as data visualization software, statistical software, or databases, to form, arrange, and display data in a useful way.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key member of the Digital Innovation Team to develop and support critical business solutions & projects, including the Vegetation & Asset Management Solution.

  • Collaborate with development, reporting, and business intelligence platforms

  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline strategies, align objectives, and optimize workflows based on data-driven insights

  • Collect and clean data from various sources and ensure data quality and integrity. 

  • Perform data analysis using appropriate methods and tools to answer business questions and support decision-making. 

  • Identify and interpret data trends, patterns, and anomalies and provide actionable insights and solutions. 

  • Establishes or enhances automatic data verification, and resolves data discrepancies. 

  • Collaborate with other data analysts, data engineers, business analysts, and other teams to support data-driven projects and initiatives. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Strong communication skills, performance & proficiency management, time management, coordination, training, efficiency in standards development, sound decision-making and strategic management, and positive approach.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field  

  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role 

  • Experience managing and reporting with utility or asset-related maintenance programs

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages, such as SQL, Python, R, and SAS 

  • Experience in data visualization tools and software, such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Experience with Safe Software FME and Esri Data Models is desirable.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge of or experience working with utility and or government clients (desirable)

Pre-Screen

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
