Spirit AeroSystems Defense-Manufacturing Planner 2 in Wichita, Kansas

Overview

Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. The company's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components for the world's premier aircraft. Spirit AeroSystems focuses on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.

Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

  • Knowledge to develop tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.

  • Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.

  • Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.

  • Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, production & postproduction problems.

  • Has the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • This role requires US Citizenship

  • Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures

  • 4 or more years of experience

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Clarification, enhancement of existing build plans to promote standardization, and ease of understanding.

  • Frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.

  • Creation and publication of manufacturing graphics.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel

  • Strong knowledge of SAP

  • CATIA / ENOVIA

  • 3DX

  • Understanding of the master scheduling requirements

  • Ability to take a project from start to finish

  • Willingness to work cross-functionally

  • Technical Degree
